Fletcher’s Lea at Ware Priory

Seventy guests joined Ware Town Mayor Cllr Phyllis Ballam at Ware Priory for an evening of fine dining and dancing to The Chaserz. 

The Mayor’s daughter, Mrs Olga Oseman, led Grace.  The Mayor raised a toast to the Town and the response was from County Councillor Dr. Mike Tucker.  Also in attendance were the Mayors of Broxbourne, Hertford, Bishops Stortford and Sawbridgeworth, along with the Chairman of East Herts District Council.

 Ware’s Twin Towns of Cormeilles en Parisis and Wulfrath turned out in force to support the Mayor and there were speeches from Laurent Atinault, Vice Chairman of Town Twinning Association and from the Mayor of Wulfrath, Burgermeisterin Barbara Lorenz-Allendorf.

 During her year of office, the Mayor has been raising funds for St. John Ambulance Ware and Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice.  Ms Jackie Simmons represented the hospice and made a presentation on the vital work the hospice undertakes.
