Ware Festival

There is a great tradition for a fair in Ware. Robert de Quincey, Lord of the Manor, having served Henry III in the French Wars, was granted leave to hold an Annual Fair on the “eve of the Virgin Mary”.

Ware Festival has been built on this old tradition and is organised by a committee consisting of Town Councillors and representatives from local organisations and is funded by Ware Town Council.

Raft race

The Ware Festival Committee organises a wide range of events throughout July; from a lively Carnival Parade, through to an Over 60s Party, Raft Race, Teddy Bear’s Picnic and many more besides. The Committee also supports local groups putting on their own Festival event. The objective is to stimulate civic pride and foster community spirit. The month comes to a close with a Paradepopular day-long Rock Concert.

Visitors to Ware during July will find a packed programme of events throughout the four Festival weekends, with somethingCanal Boats for everyone. It really is ‘Ware’ its happening during July.
