Easter Fun Day at Ware Priory roundup
Locals had plenty of Easter fun at Ware Priory on Saturday, 19th April at the Easter Fun Day. 132 children took part in the Egg Decorating Competition and a similar number took part in the egg hunt in the grounds. There was no shortage of imagination in the egg decorating entries. The Mayor, Councillor Martin Butcher, had the unenviable task of choosing a winner from so many excellent entries in each of the age groups!
The winners were: Lola Ray, Florence, Masie and Rosie Messer.
A big thanks to the volunteers who turned out to help for the fun day which is a part of the Ware Festival programme: Cllrs Andrew Zsibrita & Damien Scully and the Ware Festival crew of Tony Gubb, Gerry Stapleton & Trevor Mirams. The team were out & about hiding eggs while Chris Smith & Shirley Storey oversaw the decorating getting covered in glitter & feathers. Thank you also to Jay & Mike Salter & their team of friends who provided welcome teas and coffees to visitors and kindly donated their profits to the Ware Festival charities.
